There are a lot of possibilities for scholarships around the world. In many cases, you can apply for a scholarship at the same time when applying for admission to a university: many educational institutions offer merit-based or need-based awards. However, there are many governmental and private scholarships that you can apply for, too. This can significantly reduce your costs of studies. We’ve selected scholarships for Indian students in bachelor’s and master’s programs that one can apply till the end of 2022.
Description: The program offers scholarships for people who have worked in the fields of peace and development. The fellows are committed to community, international service, and peacebuilding. The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, as well as internship and field-study expenses. The foundation awards up to 50 fellowships for master’s degrees and 80 for certificate studies at top universities. Accepted candidates study peace and development issues with research-informed teaching and a diverse student body.
Eligibility: Master’s degree candidates must be proficient in English, have a bachelor's degree, have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace as shown through professional and academic achievements and personal record or community service. They also need to show potential for leadership and have at least three years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work.
Application deadline: 15 May 2022
Description: The Foundation assists students with tuition fees and living expenses. Half of the scholarship amount is considered a loan, which must be reimbursed with an annual service charge of 5%. The application cycle is open from the 1st of January each year. One can get an application form at AKF offices or Aga Khan Education Services / Boards in their countries of current residence. For the 2022-23 application cycle, the Foundation will not accept applications from students planning to attend universities in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, and Ireland.
Eligibility: Nationals of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, and Mozambique. The Foundation gives priority to those applying for master's programs. Preference is given to students under 30 years of age.

Description: Scholarships are granted to bright young Indian students to be enrolled in top American, European, and UK institutions for full-time master’s, MPhil, or doctorate programs. The Foundation has joint scholarships with Imperial College London, Royal College of Art (RCA), the University of Cambridge via the Cambridge Trust, and Sciences Po in Paris. The scholarship will cover tuition, living expenses, healthcare, and one-way airfare. The maximum funding given by the Foundation is $100,000.
Eligibility: All Indian citizens who have been continuously resident in India for the past six months before the time of application

Description: GSEP, an alliance of leading global electricity companies, awards scholarships for sustainable studies or related fields. The amount is up to $10,000 per year (max. two years). Scholarships are awarded to approximately ten students annually.
Eligibility: Master’s students who pursue graduate studies in zero-carbon energy, smart grids, electric transportation, energy storage, advanced electricity technologies, public policy, economics, law, political science, or other relevant fields

Description: For the 2022-23 academic year, there are 20 postgraduate scholarships available from UK universities across a variety of subjects for students from India. Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £10,000 ($13,500) towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course.

Description: The Society of India offers scholarships for admission to the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. Scholarships are generally available for any subject/course/field of study at the two universities. Some scholarships may be limited to specific courses or fields of study.
Eligibility: Citizens of India under 30

Description: The program offers up to 50 awards, each worth £8,000 ($10,850), towards tuition fees for any one year of full-time study in a master’s program at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions.

Description: The most famous scholarship program that operates in more than 160 countries. Eligibility and selection criteria for this program vary greatly by nation. For example, in India, it is administered by the United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF). Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships are designed for outstanding Indians to pursue a master’s degree program. For doctorates and mid-career professionals, there are the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowships, Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, the English Teaching Assistant (ETA), the Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program, and others.
Eligibility: Citizens of participating countries with a bachelor degree and work experience who do not hold any degree from a US university

Description: These are renewable scholarships that cover a minimum of 50% tuition to international undergraduates at selected US colleges and universities. Applicants are required to either answer a short essay question or present a multimedia project about their ideas for applying their leadership skills on their future campuses.
Eligibility: First-year international applicant in any field of study/major to a participating college or university
Application deadline: Institution Deadlines (typically in Spring or Summer 2022) - Students should complete a #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship application for each selected institution by the institutions’ deadline, including either an essay or multimedia submission explaining how they will apply their leadership skills in the campus community.
Description: The Center awards scholarships to international students from the Asia-Pacific region to study in the United States at designated schools. Tuition and fees, health insurance, book allowance, living stipend, and airfare are all covered.
Eligibility: Citizens or permanent residents of the United States or countries in the Pacific and Asia

Description: The program provides support for women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral studies in the United States.

Description: The Council provides fellowship grants to artists, scholars, students, and specialists from Asia for study, research, travel, and creative work in the United States. Priority is given to process-driven activities that enable cultural immersion, relationship-building, collaboration, or the exchange of knowledge among peers.
Eligibility: Residents or citizens of an eligible country/region, who are practicing artists, humanities scholars, or arts professionals in an eligible field

Description: The fund was established in 1949 to provide scholarships for international female students pursuing graduate study in the US or Canada. The maximum amount awarded to a student is $12,500. Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual needs.
Eligibility: Women from outside the US and Canada who are seeking advanced degrees from an accredited college or university in the US or Canada. Applicants are expected to intend to return to their home countries where they would utilize their education to make a positive impact and foster global peace

Description: The Schlumberger Foundation is an independent nonprofit entity that supports science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.

Description: Chinese Government scholarships aim to attract international students into the country. Plenty of programs are offered under this umbrella term, including Bilateral Program, Chinese University Program, Great Wall Program, and many others. The Chinese University Program is, perhaps, the most well-known one. It aims to recruit outstanding students from all over the world to undertake degree studies on all levels of education in 289 eligible Chinese universities. A full scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, stipend, and health insurance.
Eligibility: Non-Chinese citizens who are mentally and physically healthy

Description: This scholarship is designed for one to two years of studies in France at the master’s degree level for all streams and fields of study. It includes a monthly living allowance and tuition fee waiver up to €5,000 ($5,700), assistance to find affordable student accommodation, and a student visa fee waiver.
Eligibility: The applicant must be an Indian national residing in India, be 30 years old maximum at the time of application, be a student currently enrolled/have studied at an Indian institution of higher education or a young professional employed in a company for a maximum of 3 years at the time of application.

Description: It is a private scholarship administered by the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS). The scholarship supports a maximum of 4 years of undergraduate study, covering tuition and all fees, two-way airfare, as well as a living and settling-in allowance. Successful candidates will be required to work for 3 years upon the completion of their studies in either an approved company in Singapore or an approved Singapore-based company in their home country.
Eligibility: Outstanding applicants from 15 Asia Pacific economies (Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, PRC, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar) are awarded this scholarship to pursue undergraduate studies at four universities in Singapore. Most courses (except for specialized courses like Medicine) will be considered.

Description: The program provides scholarships for citizens of 40 countries, including India, who wish to apply for a graduate program at a Singaporean university.
Eligibility: To be eligible for the scholarship, you should study economics, management, science, technology, and other development-related fields. You have to be admitted to an approved course in any of the 25 participating institutions. The program covers tuition fees, living and travel expenses, and medical insurance. Before applying for the scholarship, you agree to return to your home country after completing the program.
Application deadline: Applications should be submitted at least six months before the commencement of your studies.
Description: To promote international cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreigners and Italian citizens living abroad. The scholarship is available for master’s programs, degrees in arts, music, and dance, PhD programs, and research under academic supervision at Italian research institutions. The grants cover the period from 6 to 9 months and can be renewed.
Eligibility: Applicants should live outside Italy and hold an appropriate academic qualification required to enroll in the Italian university. Applicants for courses of higher education in arts, music, and dance (AFAM), as well as Italian language and culture courses, should be under 28 years of age (except for those who renew the program).
